Features
DISC ONE
Burton+Depp+Carter = Todd
In depth
interviews with Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Stephen
Sondheim how Sweeney Todd came together from initial idea to the final
product with great behind the scenes clips.
DISC TWO
Sweeney Todd Press Conference November 2007
Recorded
at the London press conference, interviews with Tim Burton, Johnny Depp,
Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and Timothy Spall make a nice addition
giving you in-depth answers to questions about the film.
Sweeney Todd
is Alive: The Real History of the Demon Barber
Sweeney
Todd...real man or myth? Here is an interesting feature which discusses
the possibilities of Sweeney Todd possibly being a real person and why
he might just be a myth. You be the judge.
Musical Mayhem:
Sondheim's Sweeney Todd
If you're
a fan of the musical this is the feature you can't miss. Stephen Sondheim
shares his story of how he came to write this dark, bloody musical.
Sweeney's London
This was
very interesting and a great addition. Travel back to nineteenth century
London, the time Sweeney's story takes place, and learn about the locals,
the town, barbers and of course, Sweeney.
The Making
of Sweeney Todd
Originally
featured on HBO, this making of feature is different than the one you
will find on disc one. This covers more of the "highlights"
of the film, however, you might see things on here that were not on
the making of on disc one.
Grand Guignol:
A Theatrical Tradition
A look
into the horror and gore of Grand Guignol theater. Somewhat interesting,
but a feature too long. I'm still in between whether or not this was
necessary.
Designs for
a Demon Barber
A wonderful
look into the making of the Sweeney sets and costumes. Anyone interested
in the movie business will find this very enlightening.
A Bloody Business
See what
it took to get the blood just right and to project the way Tim Burton
wanted. It took much more man power than I expected for those gory scenes!
Moviefone:
Unscripted with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton
Tim Burton
and Johnny Depp ask eachother questions which were submitted by AOL
members. This is a cute, fun interview and really show the connection
that these two have.
Photo Gallery
Great
pictures from the set of the film, set with a medley of the songs.
OVERALL RATING: 5 out of 5
