Overall:
Jonas fans
rejoice, you can now have these guys performing in your home anytime
you want! Not literally, of course, but wouldn't that be just peachy?
Not only do you get the full movie you saw in theaters back in February,
but your DVD (or Blu-Ray) comes with four--yes, four--bonus songs! "Can't
Have You" is not only a beautiful song, but the boys put on a powerful
performance with it. However, like "A Little Bit Longer", the song would
have slowed the pace down of the film which younger fans might have
frowned upon. Extra bits not integrated into the film are performance
of "Shelf" and "Lovebug". The latter piece includes both concert footage
and behind the scenes footage from the tour.
Up Close and Personal: A fantastic, lengthy bit that fans will love.
The boys take you on a tour of, well, the tour. From the beginning stages
of pre-production with the initial stage concept, to rehearsals and
the start of the Burnin' Up tour. This feature has great footage of
each Brother, so no matter if Kevin, Nick or Joe is your favorite, you'll
get to see them!
Unfortunately, 3D from a movie theater into your home theater has yet to be fully improved and perfected. The nice thing is, you can see a crisper, more 3D effect on the Blu-Ray, which is probably their reasoning for releasing both 3D and 2D only on Blu-Ray discs. Smart move.
Although it, technically, flopped at the box office compared to Miley Cyrus's concert movie, I loved the Brothers flick ten times more than Cyrus. Bruce Hendricks improved his concert shooting skills and overall created a fun, fan and family friendly film that was just right for the Jonas crew.
